About

I have been dedicated to the field of counselling since 2007, achieving my Level 4 Person-Centred Counsellor Diploma in February 2011. My approach is grounded in the Person-Centred Therapy model, which belongs to the Humanistic School of Therapy. At the heart of this approach is the belief that a trusting relationship between client and counsellor is essential for effective therapy. I empower my clients to view themselves as the experts in their own lives, fostering self-expression, self-awareness, and personal growth.

Before founding “Sarah Jane Miles Counselling,” I gained valuable experience working with diverse populations in various settings, including:

– Sure Start Children’s Centre
– Disability Derbyshire Coalition for Inclusive Living
– Place2Be
– Secondary Schools
– Derby Women’s Centre
– Derwent Rural Counselling Service

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of individuals, including:

– Parents of young children
– Women and men of all ages
– Caregivers, both men and women
– Individuals with disabilities
– Individuals with neurodiversity
– Young people aged 6-18

I am currently based in Stanley Common, Derbyshire (DE7), where I continue to provide compassionate and individualised support to my clients.

As a committed professional, I have been an associate member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) since 2008, becoming a registered member in 2011 and earning accredited status in 2021. This affiliation reflects my dedication to maintaining high ethical standards and ongoing professional development in my practice.

I look forward to the opportunity to work together and support you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery.
